# Why Meta ID?

## For Community Members

Communities that are part of the Meta ID ecosystem bring tremendous value to their community members for free. Meta ID is free to mint, but is only available for those that own an NFT from a partner community. By having a Meta ID, your community members will get access to new games and experiences in the metaverse.

{% hint style="success" %}
By joining the Meta ID ecosystem, you increase the number of teams building for your community, and as a result, increase the overall value of being a part of your community.
{% endhint %}

## For the Community

Meta ID also provides a fun way for communities to compare themselves against each other by seeing the combined stats of their community vs other communities in the Meta ID ecosystem. It becomes an easy way to drive community engagement and demonstrate the strength of your community and draw in new members.
